Full DescriptionToday, Soweto is a cultural melting pot, and an absolute must see for any visitor coming to

South Africa.?

Itinerary:

?
1. Optional - Your tour starts at Apartheid Museum where our best

local guide Cindiwe will lead your through the Apartheid Museum


2. On our Soweto we pass by the National Football Stadium City, which

hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the World Cup 2010.

We enter the Diepkloof area, where we will take a walk past vendors

selling just about anything.


3. We drive past the Soweto Campus of the Johannesburg University

and end our tour with a stop at the largest hospital in the Southern

Hemisphere - Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital.


4. You will have an opportunity to read about the Soweto uprising

on 16 June 1976. On that tragic day an innocent little boy called Hector

Peterson gave up his life and kick-started the liberation of South Africa.


5. We continue our trip with drive past of the Regina Mundi Church. The church was a meeting point during the early times of the anti-apartheid movement.


6. We continue our tour driving into one of the shanty towns where you get to interact with some of the local people.


7.  In Orlando West we visit Vilakazi Street- visit the former home of Nelson Mandela and driver past the home of Archbishop Desmond Tutu.


8. We have lunch either at one of the local resident houses where a buffet meal will be presented in their house. (We have done this with past guests) Nothing extravagant however something very different and appropriate! Optional    R180 per person ahead and must be booked in advance.


9. The BEST guide in Soweto, who was born and raised in Soweto, Cindiwe will take you past all the hotspots in the Soweto region. The tour will take you deep into the township culture, so you can enjoy a personal experience of what Soweto is all about.

?Departs Johannesburg accommodation daily at 8.30am in the morning and returns back to Johannesburg at 3.30pm.
