Itinerary

Meet and Greet – arrival day

You will be collected from Nelspruit airport and transferred to the Kruger and will be met by your guide and chef at Skukuza restcamp at 2pm. After settling into your cottage you will get onto our open-sided safari game viewing vehicle for your first gamedrive.

Skukuza
(south western central Kruger)

(3 NIGHTS)

Skukuza restcamp is named after the Tsonga name for James Stevenson-Hamilton, the first warden of the park. Literally
translated it means 'he who sweeps clean', a reference to his removal of all the local people to make way for the establishment of the Park. The Stevenson-Hamilton Memorial Museum houses many interesting artifacts – very well known is the knife ranger Harry Wolhuter used to single-handedly slay a Lion and save his own life.

Skukuza is the Kruger National Park's largest rest camp and is situated on the southern banks of the Sabie River. Skukuza is home to some interesting birds and amazing plant life. Accommodation consists of an en-suite serviced (fresh linen and
towels) one-bedroomed cottage for 2 people.

Wildlife in this region includes hyena, kudu, wilddogs, giraffe, roan, eland, sable, warthog, impala, waterbuck, reedbuck and rhino.

The camp also has a swimming pool to cool off in the heat of the day.

Your guide and chef stay close by in their own cottage and host all your hospitality, fireside conversation and mealtimes.

Departure day  We always fit in an early morning game drive, and of course, a hearty breakfast before departure back to Nelspruit. Check out is at 10am.
